Is it time for an oil change? Whether you prefer to have us, here at Sloane Toyota of Philadelphia, change your Toyota RAV4’s oil, or you’re one to do it yourself, you’ll want to know what type of oil goes into your Toyota RAV4. Let us help you figure out your RAV4 needs for its next oil change.

When Does My Toyota RAV4 Need An Oil Change?

This depends on the type of oil that you use. The Toyota RAV4 can use either conventional oil (the type of oil that’s refined from crude oil) or synthetic oil (the type of oil that’s made with chemical compounds). If your Toyota RAV4 uses conventional oil, it will need to be changed every 3,000 to 5,000 miles. If your Toyota RAV4 uses synthetic oil, it will need to be changed every 7,500 to 10,000 miles. Of course, if your change oil light comes on, don’t delay! Something may not be right and will require a quicker timeline.

What Type Of Oil Is Recommended?

For good fuel economy and good starting in cold weather, OW-16 (ALL TEMPS) SAE OW-16 is recommended. OW-20 may be used instead, but must be replaced with SAE OW-16 at the next oil change.
